Pain, chronic diseases and behavior

Pain, chronic inflammation, or a combination of several such factors are often the cause of the emergence and triggering of self-defense aggression, but also symptoms of anxiety and depressive states. Diseases of other organ systems, e.g. heart or liver, can also lead to aggressive behavior, which is why a thorough medical clarification must always precede the treatment of undesired behavior.

Ultimately, the effects of chronic diseases in particular on the control circuit systems of the hormone balance must also be taken into account, and all of this in turn in interaction with the personality and age of the dog.

In the short term, however, the after-effects of anesthesia can also become evident in behavior.
