SUMMARY:Weekend seminar with Julia Besche and Norm Mrozinski
DESCRIPTION:Lesson structure and didactics in dog training \nDog trainers do not have dogs as customers\, but their owners. This not only requires profound knowledge of dogs\, but also of the people who live with them. So this workshop is not about training dogs\, but about enabling people to do it themselves. So the focus is essentially on content sharing – because if people don’t understand why things matter\, why they should be done a certain way\, and how to implement specific content\, they will have little success\, even if the training approaches no matter how good it may be. \nAccordingly\, we will focus on the following content: \n\nBasics of imparting knowledge to people (didactics) using exemplary planning of group and individual lessons\nHow do I convey (unpleasant) truths to different people?\nHow can I understand complex content such as aggressive dog behavior so closely that they understand why the dog is behaving this way\, take this behavior seriously and on the other hand be able to deal with the dog without fear?\nHow can I convey ways of acting and perspectives to people and arouse understanding in my counterpart?\nHow can I explain movement sequences?\nHow do I structure a lesson in a meaningful way?\nWhich peculiarities do I have in the individual context and which in the group context?\n\nIn addition to the boring theory\, we want to try different things with you and reflect on different approaches. \nIf you want to bring specific topics or questions to the workshop in advance\, please report them to klabauterkoeter@web.de at least four weeks before the start of the workshop \nSpeaker: Norm Mrozinski works as a certified dog trainer according to the guidelines of the Schleswig-Holstein Veterinary Association and as a lecturer\, author for specialist journals\, author of non-fiction books („Sheepdogs as companions“ and „Aggressive behavior in dogs“) and blogger and lives in northern Germany. As a passionate hobby shepherd\, his special preference is for herding and cattle dogs. As the long-standing chairman of an animal protection association\, he also campaigns for dogs that are prone to biting. \nSpeaker: Julia Besche works full-time as administrator of a professorship in the field of social work at a university in Lower Saxony and as a part-time job as a dog trainer\, certified according to the guidelines of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Veterinarians.
